Petsmart Top Fin Power Filters Recall
155,000 Top Fin Power Filters have just been recalled (models 10, 20, 30, 40, 75). The filters sold between September 2015 and December 2015 are affected, while older models are still safe to use. Affected models have a black trapezoid top and those with a rectangular top are still safe for use.
According to
CPSC.gov, "A conductor on the pump motor can become exposed and electrify the aquarium water, posing a shock hazard to consumers." To date, no injuries have been reported, but consumers are advised to discontinue their use and contact United Pet Group (800-338-4896) for a replacement filter.
