Drymate Aquarium Cleaning Mat [Review]
For about a month now, I have been using a 30"x58" black Drymate Aquarium Cleaning Mat from
Drs. Foster and Smith. It is a waterproof mat to protect your flooring from spilled water.
It does exactly what it is advertised to do - it protects your floors from spillage. Well, pretty much - it doesn't stand vacuuming like it is supposed to.
Vacuuming and normal usage wears down the mat pretty fast causing the top, absorbant, layer to come off. This looks unsightly and I have to remove these every once in awhile.
On a brighter note, it works perfectly. They say that is can absorb five times its weight in water and I don't doubt them. I even poured a glass of water on it to test it and the water just beaded on top of the mat. After a few minutes, it seeps into the fabric, only to be stopped by the waterproof backing.
Overall, I find the Drymate Aquarium Cleaning Mat a useful product for its price and applications. However, it does require extra maintenance to prevent it from becoming unsightly.
